Chris Benton

Sad news… Chris was killed in a car accident March 30, 2005, near his home in Cheyenne.

Here is his biography as he posted in 1997:

Chris Benton’s Autobiography

benton-lMy life has taken many paths since we graduated. I went to college at BYU,
went on a two-year mission to Mexico for the Mormon Church, and when I came
home, I joined the Navy and became a Nuclear Reactor Operator. I was in the
Navy for 8.5 years and visited France, Italy, Germany, Scotland, the Virgin
Islands, and even went to the North Pole!

After the Navy, I went to California to seek my fortune and instead I met a
wonderful woman with seven kids! Ain’t life grand? A few years later, Laurie and
I got married and had one of our very own, Christopher II (part deau). No,
there’s never a dull moment at the Benton House! Since I was married
previously, we now have 12 kidlets between us and I will attempt to name them
all: Nicholas, Alex, Rachael, Jacob, Katie, Kirk, Wendy, Kelly, David, Kraig,
Brittany, and Christopher. Did I miss any? Only six of them live here in
Cheyenne with us, and we have a blast with them.

How did I end up in Cheyenne? I was working at a Refinery in CA, and when
they went to close it down, they offered to transfer me to a Chemical Plant in
Wyoming, so I accepted the offer. On my days off, I sub for the school
district, so I manage to stay rather busy! Also, I am Cubmaster of Cub Scout
Pack 150, I’m on the Emergency Response Team at work, and Laurie and I are both
Foster Parents. On top of this, I just started taking a college course. I love
college! I’m sitting there in a class full of adults, and I can actually have a
complete thought! 🙂

Anyways, I love working on this reunion and contacting all of you again, so
keep those cards and emails coming!
